I'm going to rpm motors this weekend to have 1 7/8 long tube headers with cats put on the ls3. My previous dyno run with just a cold air was 400 rwhp. What type of rwhp is normally gained from the headers on the ls3?
I just put the LG Pros with cats on my LS3 MN6 and went from 380/373 rw bone stock to 405/402 rw. I gained 25/29 rw without tuning or CAI. It's in the shop now for the A&A Vortech kit.
Think again about your header choice size. You only need a 1 3/4 header. 1 7/8 should be only used for 427 motor or a smaller all out with a power adder.

Yeah, my tuner said we are doing the 1 3/4. Does anybody know if i should do 1 7/8 or 1 3/4 on a ls3 a6 with just bolt ons?
I have 1 3/4 kooks on my forged LS3/L92 427, and it makes 525rwhp/500rwtq. Those are the same headers I had on my LS2 motor before I put the other motor in. Andy Green @ A&A corvette who did the install said he could see no reason to step up to 1 7/8. For a daily driver that will never see a track it seems the power is fine. I'm happy.
