Since the 94 octane went away locally, I have had to back up the timing a couple of degrees, any recommendations on what to spike 93 with for a 94 or 95 octane mix ? Thanks in advance.......
Xylene... Octane rating 117.
It is what refiners use along with Toluene and Benzene and Ethanol to blend gasoline base stock.
You can buy it a Home Depot by the gallon or at a paint store . A paint store that supplies commercial painters will also have it in 5 gallons metal cans.
European gasoline uses much higher aromatic content (approaching 30%) than American gas (~10%)
DISCLAIMER: Do an internet search on increasing octane and satisy yourself that it is safe for you and your car before you try it.
Raising your octane 1 octane point isnt going to do anything but waste your money.
If you had 94 and you now have 93 you shouldnt realize any real effect on the amount of timing you can run...certainly not to the point that you have to pull a couple degrees out.

Have you tested Xylene or Torco?
I had 5 gallons of 92 in my car scan tool shows a little knock, added a half gallon of xylene and no more knock
