cleaning a vararam filter

cleaning a vararam filter

is it just wash, rinse, dry? no oil, nothing crazy? What do I wash it with, just a flow of water?

I use a K&N kit. Spray soap, soak then rinse. Dry then LIGHT oil.

ok so I treat it like a K/N then, makes sense. The filter is one of the green filters, no harm with the k/n oil then?

I clean using a 1 part simple green:4 parts water solution....
Let dry 48 hours and then use an oil...
Which oil? you choose.
a) aersol K&N easy to apply , esy to see
b) wd40 easy to apply but invisible
c tranmission oil ( any varinat), visible but harder to apply

I talked to the Vararam people about a year ago and they suggested cleaning and re-oiling it with the K&N Recharge kit.

The rep from Green Filter said that you should not use the K&N kit and oil on the Green Filter - something about the K&N oil not being correct for the fiber!
