I read in a corvette magazine that some drilling was required to install a FAST intake manifold on a C6. Does anyone know if this is required for other aftermarket intake manifolds, like the one from Weiand (street warrior?).
Also any thoughts on the difference in performance of an aftermarket intake manifold versus a ported stock intake manifold?
How difficult/time consuming is it to remove re-install the intake manifold?
Also are all the stock LS2/LS3/LS7 manifolds different?

It depends on your mechanical experience. My skills are 'average shade tree mechanic'. I swapped my LS2 stock for a ported stock in a few hours, with no real problems.
My understanding of the FAST intake situation is that the FAST intake has a protrusion that makes it hit the firewall. Two fixes that I have seen on the forum: (1) cut the firewall or (2) modify the FAST. Do a search for Spinmonster. He has a number of very informative posts on both the pros and cons of FAST, FAST ported, and OEM ported. Also, he has a post which shows the mod that needs to be done to the FAST intake to avoid having to actually mod your firewall.
