New Vette Owner Questions
I just purchased an 06 corvette, and just wanted to know if there are any mechanical issues I should be aware of that I can have my mechanic look at before I take it on the road. I'll be bouncing around between Ft Knox, Sill, and Aberdeen and don't want any surprises popping up when they could've been prevented. The car was previously owned by an old guy who used it as his 'sunny day car', it's got 25k miles on it. Also, if anyone has a recommendation for an after-market stereo system with an Aux-jack (for an iPod) I'd greatly appreciate it.

Can't help you with the Stereo. But, assuming you checked it out before you bought it, you shouldn't expect any issues. Mine has been perfect....

Congrats....There's some good information here in the FAQ section regarding possible mechanical issues. You could also do a carfax just to get a picture of any past issues. Also, assuming he has done normal maintenance, the dealership could provide you with service records.
My '05 has been flawless....other than the rear clatter ( to be addressed as soon as dealer gets the new GM approved transmission fluid in) and a turn signal bulb that went out.

Congrats on the purchase! Welcome. I have an 06' A6, only issue has been roof popping / squeeks which has been fixed. Only question is, for a Sunday driver he must have gotten it early in model year or drove from dusk till dawn, 25K is alot of miles. Good luck.
