No simple answer. What gear were you in? How hard did you step on it? You could duplicate the condition and then just count the upshifts til 6th.

If your in sport mode and paddle shift your way to sixth gear you'll top out at 75-80. If you down shift twice you you get into 3rd or fourth = passing mode as you decribe it.So in auto driving mode [@ 50-55] depending up which gear your are in you'll most likely drop into 3rd or 4th. As far as I can tell.

I agree with 2nd gear. The shift tables say the WOT 3->2 shift will be at 71mph or less. One way to test is to do it in S mode. As soon as it shifts use the paddles to upshift one gear, then it should say 3 on the HUD/DIC.

A 50-55mph punch will drop down from 6th to 2nd gear

1) shift to 1st when traveling less than ~30mph
and
2) shift to 2nd when traveling between ~30mph and ~65mph
Both are fun, but as was stated before, be sure you are pointed where you want to go with some room to run!
