Default Quad tip Stingers... tip alignment issue?

Just had my Stingers delivered (purchased from a forum vendor) and have noticed that the tips are not all in alignment. I've attached some quick cell phone pics of the tips on the worst side. The other side is also out of alignment, but by a slimmer margin (so not quite so noticeable).

Is this considered normal and within acceptable tolerance, or is there a problem here?

Cheers,
Ian.

I have borla stingers w xpipe. When I first installed they looked like they were off. Just a little bending is all it needed. Yours looks fine it will work out. Just you waight and see.

ttt

Each tip is misaligned with its immediate neighbour. Actually looks worse that the pics show. Should've laid a straight edge on the highest tip to show the difference.

Definitely see the misalignment. When I got mine they were all very well aligned. It looks like one of the tips is turned off center? That is very weird if thats what it actually is.

If I'm not mistaken, the two center tips SHOULD stick out just a tad bit further than the outer ones. If thats what you're seeing, then its ok. If there is alignment issues vertically, like if you're looking at the tips from behind the car, that can be fixed with some slight bending, no biggie.

My only real concern is that tip that looks turned, but it could be the pic.

Thanks for the info... the centre tips sticking-out is what I'm referring to. As you (very astutely!) notice, one of the tips is turned on its axis slightly. I spotted this on close inspection, but it's so slight as to not concern me, tbh. But, the centre tips sticking-out is quite noticeable (esp. on one side). I've attached a couple of pics showing how much they stick-out with a flat edge as reference:

With the centre tips, it doesn't look possible to bend them back in order to align with their neighbours, due to the welded bar that links the two pipes, downstream of the tips.

Cheers,
Ian.

I see what you mean now. I dont see any way of adjusting that out.
Some might find it to be perfectly acceptable and others not. I would give BORLA a call. They also manufacture the famous LG LT headers.
They will help you out. Probably give you a different set. They will help.
Good luck Leon

Now that my Stingers are on, I thought I'd update this thread regarding the tip alignment.

My concern, before install, was that the inner most tips stick-out further than the outer-most tips. Now that the system is installed, it's obvious this is by design. The rear bumper is not completely flat and is, in fact, slightly convex. The alignment of the tips takes account of this, so they look absolutely fine when installed on the car.

Cheers,
Ian.

Put a call in to the Borla Tech line and see what they say. Looks like poor quality control to me. Mine are lined up perfectly, so I know they CAN do it right.

Yup, exactly. Some, or most exhausts come with the tips all straight. I like the way the Borla tips follow the shape of the rear.

I got my muffler from GM (made by Borla) and my tips clamped on. Never saw them welded before.
