Default ceramic brake pads?

anyone know any good ceramic brake pads for a z51 c6? the time it takes me to clean brake dust off of the chrome rims is unbearable! How much should they generally run and how much should i suspect to pay for installation? thanks guys!

Delco or Hawk are decent. Delco are something like $150 for a set (front and rear).

Installation shouldn't take much more than 30-45 mins for a shop with a lift and air tools, so the install cost will be whatever their labour rate is (most would probably charge a minimum of 1 hour's labour). Of course, this assumes there are no unforeseen issues like a stuck caliper piston, or seized guide bolts. Shouldn't be a problem though.

Cheers,
Ian.

About the same for the Hawks. Since I installed the Hawks, cleaning the car of brake dust has decreased significantly....

I got VGX Ceramic Front and Rear pads for 160 including shipping I think from zip-products.com.

Took me about a little more than an hour to do them myself with just a jack and two jackstands in my garage. Shouldn't cost more than 60 bucks or so to do it at a shop. The dealership wanted to charge me 500 for all the materials and the labor. I told them I could buy rotors for all four sides for 500.

I swapped mine for AC Delco cramic pads, and never regretted it. No dust no squeal. Costs about $135 from forum vendor, GM Parts House.
I installed them myself.

I use the Hawk ceramics. Much better than the stock Z51 pads in all ways.

I switched to ceramic pads a month after getting the car. Other than the occasional squeal, I love them. I don't remember who the manufacturer was though.

I think they work better than the OEM pads, but the problem is that my rotors are so glazed, that they are not being presented to their true potential. Minimal dust and no squeal is good though. I think they are a great value for a street pad.

Default Ceramic pads

If you are currently in a 07 or newer Vette, Z 51 optioned, your ride has them already on from the factory.

I have a 08 Z51. I can pretty much guarantee that it does not have Ceramic pads from the factory.
