Maybe you know something I don't, but where did you find the spare?
GTO spares fit with minor grinding on the hub if you don't have Z51 brakes. They will not fit over Z51 brakes. I used to carry one in my C5 for a while in the center cubby but it was a hassle to stap it in and not wise to leave it loose in the cargo area (it might clobber you in an accident). Drag racers buy them to put on front bias ply tires for a poor man's drag pack.
I carry a plug kit from walmart in all my vehicles. Cheap and comes in a nice little case with all tools except pliers to pull out screws. Has come in handy several times.
Conti kits is one option, but what about the Fix-A-Flat cans? There are some that are NOT water based so there is no corrosion issue. I used one on another car, worked great, and when the tire was removed from the rim the stuff just peeled off and the tire was repaired with an internal patch. Conti Kit or can may render the pressure sensor inop, but inop is inop!
Which size spare are you going to carry? A 25.71" for the front or a 26.85 " for the rear? There is a 4.25% difference in diameter.
Oversized on the front will cause A/H problems and undersized on the rear will also cause A/H problems and T/C problems AND probably cause excessive wear on the limited slip. Might even cause ABS problems with the computer reading different wheel speeds L to R.

I dont have the run flats, but I still carry I tire repair kit. Cell phone is the best tool, it can get you out of any flat tire.
Both times I have had a flat, was out of range of the cel fone(Central California in the country) so always carry a patch kit and know how too use it, especially if you travel out of the city, dont depend ont the cel to work!!
First of all, where would you carry a spare? Second, with the tires today they just don't go flat or blow out. So with a nail or what ever you would get a small leak if any leak at all. Usually you notice the nail and it leaks when you take it out. So don't take it out until you get to a place where it can be repaired.
