It's a mod. You are modifying your computer settings. If it's done wrong you can destroy your engine. Example: run the fuel mix too lean and you'll burn holes in your pistons.
It's not a mod because you have all the same parts on your car.
If you put different rims or tires or an air intake, then that's a mod. People will see that you car has non-factory parts. Even putting mud flaps or a different shifter **** is a mod. If you paint unpainted calipers, then it's a mod.

Yes, a change to your tuning would be considered a mod if it's not an official tuning change by the factory.
Yes, it's a modification, whether you did it mechanically, physically, chemically, or electrically.....you modified it from the original factory stuff.
I think the OP's real motivation for this question is whether returning it back to a stock tune will void still his warranty?
Not yet.... maybe in a future vehicle it will. I wish the vette only came with a one year warranty myself, then I wouldn't be waiting so long to start ripping it apart.
