Considering buying this system, but haven't heard much about real life results on the LS3. Kicking the Honker system, Varram, and new K&N for LS3. Please help out with some feedback, and also, what does the intake do as far as sound goes.... Thanks guys.
I have a Honker on my LS3. I haven't dynoed it yet, but do feel a sotp improvement. Callaway claims 16.5 rwhp. Fit and finish are very nice.
Access to the filter for cleaning is easy.
As far as sound, I haven't noticed anything different than stock.
I wouldn't get the K&N hot air intake (HAI? ).
The other two are both much better choices but my (and many other's) preference is for awesome performing Vararam Snake Charmer.
Intake noises can be mildly increased but as mentioned above it's usually barely audible.
I have the Honker on my LS2 and for my mods my car is one of the fastest out there (Bolt-on C6 LS2 Mn6) incl. mph which is a measure of power. The Vararam and Honker seem to be very even in the power increase dept, but I like the oem look of the Honker better IMHO. You can`t go wrong w/ either though.
im debating the very same question for my LS3..from my research i have narrowed it down to the Vararam and Honker aswell. Most people will agree that the Honker is much better quality. From what i hear there have been issues reguarding the Vararam.
The Honker fits nicely and should give you ~ 15HP to the wheels gain or about .3-.4 sec gain on the 1/4 mile. Here is the post the MCV from Callaway posted on it when it became available for the LS3 http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1835310

I like HAI, so shall it Bee (sic).
Also, NO intake noise from the Honker or Xcelerator, any noise increase is for the Vararam.
Check out the vettechictwins video in C6 General thread. The Callaway intake sound coming out of the corner is really nice. Has a whine like a supercharger somewhat.
Thread is titled:

Vapor Lock issues??? Anything to be concerned about? Not planning on going through any deep water, but I do live in a Rainy state.
is not worth the risk ...just takes one time to ruin a motor... ...I will sacrifice 1-2 tenths for security...now if Vette Air would put in a flap that you could reach in and close manually

You could get a Honker or Xcelerator....the intake is much higher up in the shroud.
