Default C6 wheel weight/split spoke vs 5 spoke

After extensive search for aftermarket wheels for track days with R compound tires, I could not find a wheel that was less weight than a stock wheel that did not cost $800. per wheel. So I am going with stock wheels and heard rumor that 08 split spoke weight less than 5 spoke. Does anyone have wheel weight specs on this comparison.
Thanks for any help.

I'm curious about this as well. In theory the base 2008 rims should be lighter than the base 2007 rims due to that 'split spoke' design but anything is possible nowadays.
Just be sure that you're comparing 'painted wheel versus painted wheel' or 'polished versus polished' etc (not that it should matter all that much).
And of course the optional chrome 2008 rims are the same as the optional 2007 chromies.

This might help a little but you'll still need more info.

Hello again,
I just picked up my OEM 08 split spokes. My digital home scale says:
19 rear wheel w/cap, no TPMS = 24.00 lbs
18 front whell w/cap, no TPMS =22.00 lbs

I went to the thread that was posted some has info on 05 OEM 5 spoke: 19 rear wheel w/cap & TPMS = 24.0 lbs.
18 front wheel w/cap & TPMS = 21.6 lbs.

According to these specs and varience using home scales, it appears that 5 spoke & split spoke weigh the same.

If someone has any GM wheel specs, for definite answer please let me know. (don't want to seem to **** about this, if someone asks I want to be able to answer correctly) Thank's
