Yesterday I started the car and let it warm up for about 15 minutes. I drove it for about a 1/4 mile at 25 mph. When I pulled out onto a highway and shifted from 2nd to 3rd at about 30mph the reduced engine power warning came on with a steady check engine light. It took about a 1/2 mile to accelerate to 45 and I was only able to maintain this speed in 3rd gear with no hills. When I came to a stop the engine would sputter like it wasn't running on all cylinders below 2000 rpms. After the battery was disconnected for a minute it ran fine. I drove around for about 20 miles without any other issues.
How concerned should I be? Could this be caused by the switch I have on the battery for storage?

I would be concerned.. I'l take it in and have itt looked at. Probably an electrical problem, but I'm not sure that a battery switch would have anything to do with it.

I had the EXACT same thing happen to my car 07 Z-51 and took it to dealer. They had it for a day and totally replaced the throttle body. Apparently it was pulling the code and they tried to fix it and then drove it and it was fine. I went to get it and 5 min later, same stuff. I took it back and they replaced the entire throttle body assembly. That would be my best guess. If its warrantied, no sweat.
