I've got the stock ride height specs for a 2005 FE1 suspension measured from the lower control arm but I don't have the tool to take the measurement. I tried measuring from the lower control arm pivot point to the ground and then from the lowest point on the control arm and take the difference but for some reason it doesn't make sense. My car would be seriously out of spec. My question is what is the average ride height for front and rear measured from the highest point of the wheel well to the ground. I know that there will be differences in panel fit, tire size, inflation, etc. I'm just looking for a ball park number.
I was hoping to get an average to use as a reference in the future. Most shops doing alignments don't have the tools to use the GM spec and guess at the proper ride height.
Thanks Guys, I think this will be usefull to everyone wanting to know if there cars ride height has been modified, especially when getting suspension work done or alignment. As I suspected my ride height appears to have been lowered. I bought the car, supposedly stock, with 3500 miles. Hears my #'s
Drivers F = 26 1/2"
Passenger F = 26 1/4"
Drivers R = 28 3/8"
Passenger R = 28 1/2
That's what I suspected. I'm installing KONI FSD's and getting a wheel alignment. From what I've read the KONI's will lower the car even further. As it is I scrap leaving the driveway and on small dips in the road.
Talking with several wheel alignment shops, none have the factory specs and tools to readjust the ride height. That's why a good average will help the shops to re-establish the ride height.

Ride height and corner weighting can be done on a stock suspension very easily, there are ride height adjustment bolts at all 4 corners. Jack the body up, put a jack under the wheel to remove some weight and turn the adjustment bolt. Specific instructions are on this Forum, try a search for "lowering bolts".

Raised the front this weekend and installed the KONI FSD's. I raised it 3 turns and still may have to raise it another turn. I need to wait until the suspension settle to see the actual effect. Anyone else want to add to the data base of ride heights, more is better.
