Default How much do I lose?

My 08 currently has LG coated long tubes, no cats, thru the NPP mufflers. I bought it this way and have the take off stock exhaust.

I am considering going back and wonder how much I lose by going back to stock both power wise and sound wise?

For those that will ask, It's not a done deal yet. Part of me loves the sound but hates the smell. And part of me wants to take the whole thing back to stock to ensure I maintain the warranty.

Thanks

Default Contact the dealer

hi,some dealers will honor the xhaust mod and don't care.My dealership never said a word about the modified engine I had in my 99.before you replace the exhaust to stock inquire with the dealership. You have nothing to lose and a lot of cash to save.Replacing the original parts is going to be expensive.

My recommendation is to add the LG high flow cats. I beleive they are approx 300 and I have read that they will virtually eliminate the smell and will take away very little power. I am sure that there are many members who switched from no cats to cats and can detail their experiences.

I'd say, talk with LG (Anthony?) and ask them about it. As to losing power, I think it could be in the range of 15-30. I doubt if the headers alone add up to the upper number tho.

We just happen to have a new set of random tech high flow cats and X-pipe, that came from MTI in Atlanta- all welded together and ready to go if you would like them. It was on our car for just two weeks and we went with LG's complete system. For an 08 LS3. If you would be willing to make a seventy five dollar donation to St. Jude, you can have it. It will bolt right up to your current system with ease.

If they have added headers it more than likely has had a tune. With GM stating they are checking cars for this, I would guess your warranty is gone.

Not necessarily a tune. I'd say 50-50 chance it has. But the vettechic twins thing is a very nice gesture.

Just so everyone knows, it looks like the vettechictwins have "paid it forward" and we are going to do this.

My hats off and to some great forum members.

Default Paying forward

For those that have followed this thread, I just received a PM for the vettechictwins saying they have received my St Judes donation and the cats will ship monday.

I can't say enough about CF and the wonderful people that live here. This came out of the blue and these ladies stepped up and offered the cats for nothing more than a St Judes donation from me. NO money for themselves, no shipping charges.

The vettechictwins are an asset to this forum and I for one thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you Leslie and Michelle.
