Foremost I'm a partial hypocrite. I always wondered why someone would alter the suspension of some of the finest cars in the would when those settings were determined by engineers after countless hours of real world testing. Also, I never cared for the look of slammed cars. Well, I had Kumhos, 2nd hand Z51 springs, Z51 bars, Pfadt bushings, and FSBs installed. I told the installer to adjust the bolt height to stock and with the FSBs the car of course is lower. I was going to have him raise the car again when I have him put a tunnel plate on but I like the lowered look. Even the BMW guys in the shop thought the car looked sharp lowered. Has anyone used these rocker savers? http://www.eliteengineeringusa.com/Rocker_Savers.html
or these which seem to be the same http://www.engineeredcorvetteproducts.ca/
Is there a chance of unweighting the chassis if the frame rails contact the road surface at speed when the suspension is under load?
I installed them on my 06 with stock Z51 uspension set at stock height. I put them on just in case of a steep driveway or parking lot speed bump that's higher than normal.
To date they haven't been needed.
On a related note - if you get them, make sure that they are positioned so that the pucks can be installed and removed easily. I made the mistake of installing them with the pucks (round aluminum ones) installed.
When I went to remove the pucks, I found that they bound against the frame protectors, and were difficult to remove, so I had to do some dremel tool triming.
