Going to Richmond Dragway Friday & I'll be doing my share of burnouts & remember some posts w/ ideas to keep the rubber sticking to the fenderwells to a minimum. What are people using? Any other suggestions on protecting the car. I will probably be using 3M blue painters tape on the paint unless someone has something better.

What tires are you going to use? Usually, people don't recommend you do a burn out with stock tires. Drive around the water, do a of short quick dry "hop" to clean the tires, line up and go. If you were using Drag Radials, then do a burn out to heat the tires.
I'll be running BFG KDW2s, & in the past w/ GYSCRF which no matter what I tried wouldn't hook wet, dry, no burnout at all. There was lots of rubber everywhere though, fenderwells & fenders probably both from the tires & from the track. I also chipped the paint, car's black, on the edge of the fenderwells. So I'm trying to be a little more cautious & make cleanup easier at the end of the day.
Take some pictures of the tape job... I'm looking at going to Rockingham next month for my first drag runs. Any help keeping the car looking good after a track visit would be helpful.

This is pretty simple stuff, get 2" blue painters tape by 3M at any hardware store, & cover the paint on the inside edge & rearward from the centerline of the rim high on the rear fenders. It wouldn't hurt doubling up & make sure all edge of tape are stuck so wind doesn't take it off. It's pretty common at the track, so bring a roll & do what you see on the other cars. I am planning on pic & video, but my skills at posting them haven't worked out so far.

I was more interested in how much you need to cover up. Thanks for the tip!!
