P0449
Ignition ON, engine OFF, command the EVAP vent solenoid ON and OFF with a scan tool.
Listen for a click when the valve operates. Verify that both the ON, and the OFF states are commanded.
Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
OK guys, now there is two of you having a p0449 code. It happened to me immediatly after a catback install. Here is what I found. We know now that p0449 is a "evaporative cannister "VENT solenoid ". There is a plastic line that runs along the passenger side fuel rail area and down the back of the firewall. You cant see it from the top and you would have to look underneath along the passenger side firewall area. First go to the underhood fusebox to fuse #13. It is located around the center of the assy. Pull it out and check it to see if it is blown. That was my
problem. It also affects a few other things . It is a 25 amp fuse. If it is not bolwn check to see if 12 vdc is present at the SOLENOID CONNECTOR. If you have voltage then check the solenoid for open ckt.
If its open replace it. If the solenoid is good then the ecm is not providing the ground return and the problem is much deeper. Start with the fuse and see how it goes.
