Default NPP dyno question??

I run with the fused pulled I like the loud sound all round. My question is has anyoned dynoed a car with the NPP working like its supposed to vs keeping the flaps open all the time? If so whats the results??

Thanks

You probably won't see any sort of increase in power on the dyno by running them open. They open by themselves at 3,500 rpm....most of your dyno graph will be well above that.

Rockin Blue 08 did a dyno with the system open and closed. The graph is posted in several threads. I think it averaged about 6 Hp per the printout, although the runs did not start from identical points so the average may be skewed a bit to the high side. The difference was small enough that I decided to save the $1100 price of the NPP system and put it towards headers.

I think you need to run them open to get a good A/F. I could be wrong.

It's not really going to be any different. Over 3500 rpms the valves are open. max horsepower is made much higher in the Rev range..

Anything below 3500 rpms though and it would be interesting to compare the torque graphs open and closed... I wonder if it does make any difference even though I doubt I'll put the fuse back in even if it does.

You can thank Louis at LG for the answer to this one.

Louis noticed a bit more torque down low when they dyno cars this way. (Flaps CLOSED) Mind you these were not stock cars but modded cars with big cams.

Better throttle response and better everyday driveability too.
