i would ask if what they were doing required a reflash, then I would tell them not do it. That's what I've done. My dealer knows. actually the service writer. I've known him for years.
Here's a question since the subject of tunes, warranties and GM's ability to see a "non-stock" tune is front and center right now. If you have a tune and the dealer does a "reflash" will it now appear to the dealer (if they look later) that the car had never been tuned to start with?

There's been a lot of chatter on this subject as of late, but so far it remains only rumor.
It sounds to me like you would be able to flash a stock tune right before you take the car in, but who knows... Even if you do, I'm sure a lot of the visible mods are going to be enough for them to void the warranty.
from what I've read the dealer can only tell if he "looks". period, it takes him some doing to "look". he will only look if there's some reason to "look" IE major breakdown, if the stock tune is reinstalled the codes WILL match again and there is no "dating" of the event. This is why I bought a "Predator" and then went to a Diablosport tuner who customed tuned the car and made it so I could "save" it to the tool. now I have the best of both worlds a Custom tune and a way to reinstall the stock tune anytime I choose and I can make ADJ. data log etc, etc. all for about the same cost of a "custom tune" and 380rwhp 384 tq on a mustang dyno

From what my service guy tells me and i've known him for many years, and countless things he's done for me under warranty. So I trust what he says; No, the dealer has no clue it's been tuned, reason all tuners lock there tune so no other tuner can read it and get any info. No sharing allowed. So be at ease they can't read it.
He's some advise. If you do indeed need a reflash, first, call your tunner and see if he's stored the program in his computer. Most do. Then it's just an easy download. The car will run like crap until you get there, but so what. No big deal. If not, then it's a retune I would imagine.
Do you have to tell the dealer so they will not re-flash the computer for some reason, or is this a non-issue?
I guess it depends - but to be on the safe side, put 'NO FLASH" on the work order. I had my LPE C5 in for a recall and they re-flashed the PCM. The car would barely run and I had to get a hand held from LPE with the program installed to re-tune the car so it would run. After that, every time it went in I made that notation.
