I ran the Thunder Racing Cheater cam in my 05 and it was awesome! I was very happy with it. It behaved like stock but had a very awesoem powerband. My dad is still running it in his car and it traps around 125mph.... It Idles like stock and you do not lose any low end...

how much power do you feel the CHEATR was worth versus the LS2 cam excluding your other add ons eg: headers ,etc....Thunder Racing does not have a dyno comparison for this cam on their site
I have the GT-11 in my '08 MZ6 and it idles @ 725 rpm with a Chuck CoW tune. Great power and, although I have headers and Corsa Sports, doesn't sound like a cammed race car.
i have that comp cam in car now,, it idles well, and drives like stock as soon as you come off of idle. it made 440 with patriot heads and stock intake. headers to.
I wish THUNDER RACING and LINGENFELTER would step up to the plate and publish some comparison numbers of their CHEATR cam and GT11 cams versus either or both the LS2 and LS3 stock cams. As a thought, I read an article a few years back in which the Chevrolet corvette engineers actually divulged that the at that time LS6 2002 cam(same as the LS2) only gave 8-10 hp away to the LS6 2004 cam and that cam without headers probably gave little away to their HOT cam with 215/230 duration. THe LS3 cam is essentialy the LS6 2004 intake lobe added to the LS2 exhaust lobe ....so maybe worth 5 hp over the LS2 cam itself...other thoughts = usually when you change rocker arm ratio from say 1.7 to 1.8 on an LS2 which is like adding 0.05 of lift and a couple more degees of duration...you get about 10-15 hp...you can see that changing to a CHEATR or the even higher lift GT11 would be like going from 1.7 to 1.9! ...very tough on springs...sure you can go to the cams with greater tha 220 intake duration but if your car is a daily driver pay attention how much of the time your motor is actually driving the car between 800-1500 rpm with an A6 transmission,..220 even with a good tune is going to BUCK some and maybe alot...of course with a wider LSA (116 or greater you might not notice it too much)...I have driven an LS7 and it idles wonderfully but just look at its cam specs including it's higher RAR and you would wonder how it could put out the power it does...come on cam manufacturers ...let's see some graphs/comparisons.

TR published results when they first came out with the cam. Their margins aren't big enough to give the cam away to test in each new application. It will do fine in an LS2 or LS3 and make more power.
The thing to remember is that the CheaTR is a small cam. If you want more power with stock manifolds, either up the intake duration or bring down the LSA to 114.
...sure you can go to the cams with greater tha 220 intake duration but if your car is a daily driver pay attention how much of the time your motor is actually driving the car between 800-1500 rpm with an A6 transmission,..220 even with a good tune is going to BUCK some and maybe alot...of course with a wider LSA (116 or greater you might not notice it too much)
A 220 cam isn't going to buck when tuned. 220/220 114 cams were going into LS1s when tuning wasn't available and there was barely any bucking.
The low idle speed for an A6 with a stock torque converter is the primary limitation on cam selection.

Thanks Mike.....
As nice as your car runs.......
THE BEST CAM FOR AN A6 is MY 3.42 TOTAL ATTACK PACKAGE REAR END!!!
That's BEST mod for the money and it'll idle like stock and still get great mileage!
I'll see if I can dig up some stealth II A6 dyno sheets. You'll see a solid gain with no change in sound or driveability!! You can check out prices on our website and we always have them in stock and ready to roll...
Zach,
I am confused. Your web site says that no advance is built into these stealth cams for good low end power. I though advancing the cam is a way of getting low end power.
thank you for all answers
about the MTI stealth II and cheater I have tried them.
I know that lingenfilter GT11 is a good cam but i'm wory about the A6 transmition.
advaice me please cuz he will order a cam this week ?
