Whatever I'm using for the brakes. Most advertise they exceed DOT 3 and 4. I track my car, so it is usually a 500 deg + dry-temp fluid. Many swear by Motul and the like, but they're a bit pricy if you're changing it often. I've used Valvoline V-Syn successfully and I have Johnsen's synthetic in right now, both relatively inexpensive. I'm told that the blue oval (Motorcraft) makes a really good, high-temp, cheap synthetic fluid. May give that a try. Good luck. I'm interested in hearing the experts myself . . . Don't use DOT 3. Only use DOT 4 brake fluid for the clutch.
I use Prestone DOT 4 ($5 for 16oz bottle). You can buy it any AutoZone or O'Reillys. You have a number of brands to choose from. I'd stay away from the GM brand. Not cause its bad, but cause you get a 12oz bottle for like $12-$14. Might as well get more for you money using another brand.

ExploreI've been using the Valvoline synthetic; seems to work fine and its fairly cheap and easy to get. As far as I can tell good fluid changed
frequently is probably better for this application than great fluid not changed so frequently.

Same here. Was flawless with changes before and after each track event since new....until I put in a cam. Then I had to remove the pedal spring or the pedal would hang down after 1-2 shift. Without spring it works fine, though after the run it feels spongy - works, but feels spongy until I pump it many times on the return road.Originally Posted by LOS ANGELES PI

Just like Ranger advocates, I use Prestone DOT 4 in the clutch.
I use Motul RBF 600 for the brakes.
