Default Rear part numbers
I purchased a rear from a freind and we are not sure what gears are in it. Can you tell from a part number? It does not have the tag that states the gear like my 06 vette has. The part numbers are:
AAQJ-00174 then "GETRAG". another is on the other side that reads A 5502. The part number on the case reads 6250044190. Thanks

Edit: I could also count the ring gear. If someone knows the teeth/gear ratio that would be great

The # of teeth on the ring gear vs. the # of teeth on the pinion gear IS the gear ratio. Count both and divide ring # by pinion #.

Must be 2.56 great gears for the A6 but no help for a M6
