Default NPP Converstion

I am looking at getting a 08' Z51 Vette that has the options I like, but not the NPP options. How hard would it be to do the converstion and would it be a better idea to get an aftermarket exhaust? Also, is this system just the mufflers with the assoicated hardware to open the bypass valves or is it a whole cat back with bigger pipes? Thanks.

Its a really easy if you have the exhaust off.Give Sunsetorangecreations he can set you up with a wireless controller and all the parts for cheaper than anybody. He just hooked me up with parts and was there to answer all my questions. And he came and droped it off at my house on very short notice.

You need a complete vacuum system like NPP in a box. It installs in less than 10 minutes and saves you hours of labor and $$ running vacuum from the motor. I have over 100 in use and they are sweet

NPP in the box (self contained system to run NPP on any C6) installed in 10 minutes, the guys at his shop were blown away that a car could sound like this. Craig set it to start up with the flaps closed (a simple flip of the switch and you can change it to start open) but when he opened them and hit the gas while I was setting up the camera, I almost went deaf, thanks Craig.

Here is a video I did with my still camera (so it's not great), will take time to load (I can not emphasize enough that you need to turn up the volume and you need a good speaker system (with bass) or a good set of headphones). I have the bose II on my PC and my cabinets shake in the wild mode.

Notice how the inner flaps open and close

Here is a repost of Craigster05 post in the tech section

The combo of the headers and the NPP in Wild gives you AMAZING sound and “HEY, LOOK AT ME!!!” volume…the tonality and sound is that of a NASCAR stock car at WOT outside the car, yet quieter and less drone inside the car than the GHL exhaust I was so fond of. The install is very straight forward, easier with a lift, but as Ed has shown with his car, you can do it on jack stands. Here are some pics and descriptions of the step by step process; you will receive complete illustrated instructions with your purchase.

NPP Mufflers waiting for Install

Factory Exhaust Removed

Drilling a ¼” hole in the rear well

Run the Vacuum Tube though the hole

Run the Vacuum tubes through existing frame locations

After dropping the rear sway bar, snake the NPP mufflers up and over

Attach the pipes to the mufflers

Connect the vacuum hoses to the NPP mufflers

Make sure your muffler pipes are straight and level

Muffler hardware done and vacuum tubing run

Locate vacuum nipple in well

Place NPP controller in bottom and attach vacuum and power lines

Place lid on top, you can still store items here (Does that look perfect or what???)

Connect power cable to the Seat Heater Fuse

And of course, a quick run with Ed's Polishing kit

That's all there is to it.....All that's left is to go out there and have a blast with your new found customized sound.

Default Power?

Where are you guys grabbing a hot wire? Or are you fishing one to the fuse panel. The pics for everything are clear except that. Also, I assume the NPP controller has some type of mini-compressor (or reverse) built in for the vacuum function. Would someone please give the "Cliff Notes" version of exactly what we're taking about. This would explain the huge price difference in controllers. My NPP mufflers (take offs from an '08) came yesterday & there going on my '05.

I just had the NPP mufflers installed yesterday, with Pipedreams Mild to Wild set up... Ya really got hear it when its open, especially with headers.. The nice thing about it is you can make it quite with the push of a button, and the install of the MTW is painless and quick about 10 minutes total.

Funney I heard one of the pipdreams boxs and didnt like losing the space inside, and the pump noise.I spent less than an hour hooking up the vacume tubing and putting in the wireless control. And the sunsetorangecreations was a lot cheaper and uses engine vacume like factory and the B&B system.I think there both good i just wanted to save some money and have less parts that could fail.

First time I every heard that, you 100% cant hear the pump run and it only runs for 2-3 second and then shuts off. The box is 3x 7 so it takes little space. Chevy dealers are even using it so I think it the better choice considering the labor.

PS what makes you think my parts would fail, when you do things right you have no issues. The only part your are missing is my pump and it's rated for 20,000 hours of constant use and only see a few seconds of operation per day.

I can easily hear the pump run when sitting still or if I'm on a smooth road and under about 30 mph. I actually don't mind hearing it, because if there is a leak, it will run often.

Funney i quess thats the second time he now heard it makes some noise. Both are a good deal but i think $150 sunsetorangecreations with less parts is a better deal for people doing there own install. If the chevy z06 and npp,and B&B use engine vacume thats telling me something!

The poster is correct, if there is a leak in the system AFTER by box it will run. I can't control leaks after the box or if you used, used systems that may have leaks. B&B decision not to use my box was based 100% on price. They sell you a kit for $175 and the hour - hour and a half labor is on you. I sell you a product that installs (anyone can do) in 10 minutes (no lift or special tools needed) so you save that labor.

It's your choice, but since you don't have my system you should stick to what you know and have You want to push your friends system fine, just don't do it by trying to but mine down

I'm installing one of these systems as well (the B&B Fusion). Checked out all the options and the B&B vacuum kit from Sunset Orange was my best option. Installation is simple enough, price is right, and no vacuum pump required. Extra noises in the car drive me nuts, so I really didn't want the loud electric pump.

I agree with the fusion it's designed for their vacuum kit. I do not recomened my NPP in a box for the fusion system. Not sure why you say my system is "LOUD" you never had it

You are overreacting and jumping to conclusions, I don't know anything about your system. The videos posted by others (including Sunset Orange) show the pumps, and they are too loud for me. Do you have a video of your silent pump? Please post it. If you are saying that you just can't hear it over the other noises, that's a subjective topic that won't be the same for everyone. HOXXOH can obviously hear it, why don't you address that?

If we are picking out all the details, why do you recommend the B&B system with the Fusion? I don't see how the control system and mufflers are related. Either one will work together exactly the same.
