Default Spin-fast 92

A SPIN modded FAST 92 is the real deal.
Yesterday SPIN installed a FAST 92 (with his porting, painting, firewall mod) on my C6 Z51 A6 coupe and after retuning (CoW) - this manifold ROCKS.
SPIN's mods are perfect and his installation is meticulous, quick and he uses a Torque wrench.
The FAST 92 (I prefer the SPIN-FAST 92) is an excellent addition to your C6 with headers or headers and a small cam. You will feel real quantifiable SOTP hp/torque increases under the curve with the curve even being raised somewhat.
BTW my C6 A6 has ARH w/cats & X-pipe, LPE CAI, LPE GT11 cam & kit, LS2 Portworks intake, 160 t-stat, UD pulley, CoW A6 tune and CoW 3:15's and 425 rwhp (prior to the CoW A6 tune and 3:15's).

So after driving home 200 mi. and some more miles today on my C6 A6 w/a SPINFAST 92, I definitely feel more torque, right where it does the most good 2000 rpm and up. According to my highly calibrated Butt dyno an increase of 20+ hp/tq is definitely achieved. My C6 is a Torquemonster now!

IMHO the FAST 92 or SPIN-FAST 92 (my choice) is an excellent choice for a bolt-on mod to your C6.

Yes, I believe so, but PM Spin for more info.
He's a good guy (no pun intended) and has an excellent technical knowledge of our cars.

Thanks, Craig It was great to some faces to the names on CF and hopefully meet once in a while. If you guys do a Boston road trip I've got the place to camp out. Did you get Spin to the airport?

....OK back to the SPINFAST 92.... This manifold does make a hp/tq difference especially on slightly modded C6s with headers, CAI and/or the addition of a small cam. This is probably one of the better bolt-on $$$ values. I believe in a post from some time ago someone (Spin ?) said to plan your mods to suit your end purpose. I agree with this idea and think of building a Power Pyramid, 1st the base, ie: headers, CAI, gears, SPINFAST 92, then build upon your base , ie: a cam, heads, all ultimately working in unison to the top of your Power Pyramid.

Default Spin-Fast 92

I feel like a real Azzzzzz, I've been Pmming Spin and discussing options for my C6 A6, I had no idea he would do the porting and stuff, I just purchased a Fast 92 manifold and had it ported, it has not arrived yet, but the point is, I've been getting his advice and it never crossed my mind to ask him if he would mind doing it, I would think it would be a great piece.
Sorry Spin, next time i'll ask
Still thanks for all the advice.

The SPINFAST92 is a teriffic mod and dissapoints no one. Im sure you did in fact experience the midrange head snaping torque. I see you have a Z06 in the same year. Would you say with all your mods that
the z51 is about the same or better than your stock z06. You have the unique opportunity to compare them with objectivity.

LSCHLEM,
I think that at this point they are fairly equal, though the C6 A6 may have an edge in a standing start.
My C6 A6 coupe with all it's mods is simply an easy fun to drive Beast in sheep's clothing, the incredible mid range torque is almost scary with the SPINFAST 92, it just pulls like a freight train. I now have Wilwood 14" rotors F&R with 6 f &4 r piston calipers, CCW C140s and KDW's, so my coupe handles and stops as well as the Z.
The Z06 stock is a great car, also easy and fun to drive, awesome torque all over the rpm range, fantastic handling, vg brakes. A truly world class sports car and I love mine (planning a few simple bolt-ons).

So which do I prefer C6 A6 coupe or Z06? I love 'em both ...Z06 1550 mi. vs. C6 A6 5600 mi.

I guess i could have phrased my question a little better. I know the z 51
w mods will never be a ZO6. There is handeling , Breaking etc. I guess what im trying to get a handle on is in your opinion how would these fine cars compare from a 30 - 100 roll & smash the pedal and what difference do you feel if any ? My goal was always to achieve ZO6
acceleration with a ls2 with boltons + 4.10 gears.

OK I'll try to answer your question.
I think that these cars right now are near equal. The A6 coupe would be right beside the Z06, though the Z may start to edge away near the 100 mph mark but then the huge torque increase of the modded SPINFAST 92/GT11/3:15s etc. LS2 A6 is so awesome - Dead Heat.
Seriously my C6 A6 just surprises the hell out of me It is so strong & the RUSH is so similar to my Z06. Z06 = C6 A6 (modded)
If it stops raining this weekend I'll try to do a back to back test and report the reults.
IMO The bolt-ons, headers, CAI, SPINFAST 92, 160 t-stat, 4:10s, etc. and a good tune will get you most if not all of the way to stock Z06 territory especially on an LS3 with the LS2 close behind.
Hope this helps, Joe

Joe, I thank you for tour response and future evaluation. You know the deal. The ZO6 guy will say no way even with a supercharger you might get close. The LS2 guy w FAST MODS will say Im sure it will pull a ZO6
the way this car runs. Only a guy like yourself can make a comparison
because you have both and drive both now. Ill be looking foreward to
any future camparisons you care to post. Thanks, Leon

I find the supercharging to be easier than building an N/A motor.

Joe, I'm glad you like the FAST results. I have been preaching its virtues since the myths about its peak power being the whole story were still being believed by those who didnt have it. It took some time, but now the truth is out about the real power in the midband and Dennis50nj showing its track superiority. Mid and low power certainly does matter in all race applications. PM me about the other 2 items you wanted installed at your house while I enjoy some waterfront views.
