What mods do you have? Odds are you wont need a tire that wide.
That's a good point, the 275-40-17s will also work very well in most apllications. But often times those seeking the 305-35-18s aren't doing it to gain width, it could be more of a need for a certain overall height (those tires are close to stock height) or simoly limitations on finding a rim that fits.
I personally prefer 17s over the 18s but I fully understand why some choose to go with an 18" DR.
You can pick up a 265 MT that is very close to stock height for 18" wheels (were available last time I checked)
That is plenty of tire to run some pretty serious times.
It doesn't look as good (a little narrow for a wide Corvette) but it WILL work.
I have installed a vortex (A&A mod. SuperCharger). Magnaflow exhaust but no header (yeat). I was told that either a BFG DR 285/35-18 or a MT 305/35-18 would be the best choice.
alamo1974,
I've been trying to find a set for my 18x10.5 rims for several months now. After ZERO luck and estimated shipping dates as far off as August, I'm considering plan B.
I'd say the M/T is optimal with compound, design and diameter. 2nd best might be the similar BFG 295 3rd the shorter and wider BFG 315.
I put together this chart for my car which should run ~135mph at the dragstrip. Since I'd like to shift at 6k and use all of 4th, the M/T looks perfect.
If I can't find them in the next month or so, I'll go with the P295/35 BFG.
Regards,
Scott

Nice chart.

Those work well too but unfortunately they're also quite backordered.
