Default Help! Is this a Z51?

I bought a '05 coupe with 4000 mi. the dealer tells me this is not a Z51, but it has the large drilled and slotted brakes. Is there a way to tell a Z51 from a base coupe? Thanks....

Look in the glove box at the codes and see if it says Z51

If the rotors have slots, they are not the factory rotors. Z51 rotors are cross-drilled only. NewC6Guy stated the only way to absolutely tell if it is a Z51.

There is a sticker in the glove box (I don't remember if it is on the actual door like the C5) that states all the Regular Production Option (RPO) codes. If it is a Z51, that code will be there.

I've got a c6 z51 and they are correct...just look at the white sticker inside of the glovebox, you will see "z51" if it is in fact a z51.

Thank alot guys, it would appear that the dealer was correct. This is not a Z51 opted car. I just cannot explain the brakes.

Yup, not a Z51 according to the build RPOs. Someone swapped on the rotors. Back in early 05 Z51s were tough to get, always on constraint. Someone probably got tired of waiting and got one without, then swapped out the rotors. They do fill out those front wheels nice. Have those calipers done up in that DSOM orange, and that will be one sharp car.

Might not have the Z51 option, but it's still a KILLER car! Very nice color/wheel combo.

P.S. I'll be in your neck of the woods this weekend.
