Default SLP Loudmouths

I am contemplating getting the SLP Loudmouths from RPIDesigns (Great vendor!). I am about 99% sure I am getting them. I would like to hear opinions on these...I will have an LS3 MN6....how is drone? How is 'casual' driving? How is driving at like 60-70mph? I'd like to hear from people that actually have these. Also, I have heard a lot about drone...what exactly is drone?

i got the loudmouth 1s on my camaro and its loud as hell but i also have no cats. all the loudmouth 1 is, its a straight pipe that opens up a little bigger than the exaust pipe with no kind of packing or anything. IMHO you would get the same sound by putting in a straight pipe.

good luck

With it being pretty much a straight pipe, did you feel any SOTP gains? I'm not really caring about the gains...just the sound.

i didnt really notice because i already had some aftermarket mufflers on there. the car is a heads and cam car so its pretty fast and would take a decent amount of gain for me to fell it.

Thanks...one last question...I see the Loudmouths are modular (all pieces come apart and are put together with clamps)...if I got loud mouth 1's...didn't like them...I could purchase just the loud mouth 2 muffler part/canister right? I think thats how I understand it here:

http://www.slponline.com/modular_exhaust.asp

But I can't see where I can get the mufflers.

I actually posted yesterday that I added the loudmouth II on my 07 A6 two weeks ago, and I'm thinking of switching back. The sound is terrific, and I wouldn't want the original loudmouths as they are louder. LMII is loud enough. My problem is because of the automatic trans, and think these would be great for an M6. The product itself is really well made, and it fit perfectly. Because of the modular design, you can make any adjustment to get the alignment right.

Yes you can swap back and forth from the LM1 muffler to the LMII muffler, but I don't think that would be cost effective.

I'm thinking of posting my system on the forum to see if I can sell them. If you want my system, let me know, and I can save you some money.

WOuld you consider the LMII to be the same 'loudness' as the Billy Boat Bullets?

I haven't heard the bullets, but I can tell you about the inside of the LMII muffler. It is a straight through pipe, no obstruction. The diameter of the inlet and outlet is the same all the way through, nothing in between. Around the pipe on the inside of the muffler there are holes and material in the casing of the muffler to act as a resonator. Powerwise I don't see how there could be any difference in the LMI and LMII design, and with the straight through design I don't think these or the bullets would be that much different in sound, if at all. B&B are just a lot more expensive.

Drone is noise in the cabin and it can be intolerable especially on a trip. You may want to ride with someone with straight Bullets to experience it firsthand.

Not sure if this will help you, but if you follow the link to SLP's web site and click Exhaust Components, then on the Loudmouth I & II systems there is a video clip for each one. By the way the MR convertible in the clips is mine. I can't answer your question about drone as I have the Powerflow system on the car.

Drone is also going to be effected by Headers, Hi flows etc. There may be tolerable drone without headers but when you add them you may think otherwise....so if you thinking about headers hear a car with them
