Do I need to replace any washers on the drain plug when I do a change? I remember on my Mitsu, I needed to replace the alum washer each time that I did a change.
there's a rubber o-ring pressed in a recess before the threads, pretty good design... it's a 13mm plug, very easy to change and I didn't replace the seal
Begin your search now for a magnetic plug as they're no longer available @ your friendly, local Chevrolet dealership! Might get a few filters while you're at it since they're cheaper there than anywhere else. (And they keep your warranty in force also!)
If I didn't have mag plug(s) in my engine, this crud would still be floating around, lapping (wearing) my engine down at a more rapid rate that it already is!

I put a filtermag on the oil filter. You'd be shocked at how much more, of those nasty little particles, it pulls from the oil.
