Default NPP Controller

Hi guys,

I just installed NPP mufflers on my car (2008 C6) and I am wondering what is the best quality/price NPP wireless controller I can go with. My car did not come with the NPP option so it does not have the vacuum pluming on it. I need a kit which comes with everything to make the muffler valves functional.

Thank you.

Will the "One Button NPP / Z06 Wireless Exhaust Switch" work on a car which did not come with NPP?

Get the Pipedreams model which has other options as it always did for rpm and wireless switching...ect. Another option is that you can get a new false carpeted bottom for the compartment that goes on top of the installed unit to both protect the unit/wiring and make the compartment usable for other purposes. Its a nice touch and looks great. I have the NPP controller on my car with the Z06 exhaust and it works great. It uses medical grade parts inside which are held to the highest standards for reliability. The box can be set to come on loud or quiet upon starting the car. It has two wireless switches or can be controlled from the visor controls. You can have the exhaust open up by rpm if you choose that option and they close again when the car comes under the preselected rpm. Mine has all these options and it works great.

NPP in a box from Ed (Pipedreams) is a very high quality product at a reasonable price.. The install is painless and only takes 10 minutes. I've had it on my car for a month now and it works perfectly.. Ed has some sound clips and install instructions on his website.

Sunset Orange Creations, I know Ben uses NASA grade components in his system which are at least one maybe two steps up from medical grade.

I received a PM from sunsetorangecreations saying he no longer makes the stand alone NPP controller for a car that did not come factory with it. So I believe the only option now would be pipedreams which appears to be an excellent kit (just more than I wanted to spend on top of the already expensive NPP mufflers).
I wonder if it would be possible to make my own controller. Afterall these are simple vacuum actuators.

You probably could but I don't know what your time is worth or how fast you can build something like this but the NPP in a box will take you all of 15-30 minutes from unboxing to hitting the remote and watching the flaps open/close. Also, the only permanent mod is a small hole drilled in a storage cubby. This could easily be filled if you ever pull the system and trade/sell the car.

Actually this statement is incorrect.

I no longer make an electric vacuum pump retrofit kit for the NPP retrofit guys.

I am making a new kit which has electric actuators that take the place of the vacuum actuators and allows any valve angle setting including full open or full closed, as well as partial open too.

I also make a engine vacuum based system for those who want to go that route.

Pm me for any additional info.

Ben

Yeah sorry for the misunderstanding. Now will this engine vacuum kit work for a retrofitted car? My NPP arrives tomorrow and I still have yet to buy either something you make (sunsetorangecreations) or from pipedreams. Looking to spend least amount possible and only really care about opening and closing the valves.

No problem, just wanted to make sure everyone knows I havnt left them behind. I am actually moving forward with some new ideas other than the electric vacuum pump motor I used to sell.

I'll pm you some vacuum retrofit info.

Could you please include me on the PM list. I would love to see some new products.

Thank you.

LOL, NASA subcontracts all work to private companies which bid on the job. The contract goes to the cheapest bidder just like military helicopter designs. The expression "good enough for government work" has come to mean "cheap". While designs are good builds are budget constrained.

Medical grade is an insurance company requirement of minimum durability. The air pump in the NPP in a box is from a mini respirator for asthma patients. What NASA rocket used the SSO pump?

I was just rattling your cage Guy, I am always amused when promotions link products to offset fields of technology in an attempt to quell the fear we have of our product failing. Can your vendors exhaust controller send back video from Mars?

Take care, John
