05- A4 Rear End Swap
Is it possible and if it is, is it practical to swap the entire stock rear end from an 05 A4 with 315 gears to an 06 or later Z06 rear end? I'm making an assumption ( I know I should not do that) that the Z06 rear will be a lot stronger. Has anyone done this with an A-4? Does it make sense from a $$$$$ point of view? Any ideas on cost and availability?
Or am I just better off having a reputable shop rebuild my stock rear end to the gear ratio that I want (342) ?
Thanks for any input.

If you have this done, be proactive and replace the 3 torque-tube bearings while you're in there (cost: approx $300.) You'll be very glad you did.
I eventually swapped the stock A4 trans for a built A4.
