I have a 2006 coupe and she is overheating. I have checked the coolant level and it is fine acording to the tank. The fans work fine and it still tells me to check the coolant level? Is it possibly the thermostat? Or has anyone else had this problem?

Have you looked to see if there was anything blocking your radiator?

A cracked head will sometimes cause overheating if all of the other major players check out fine. Food for thought!

Does it just say to check coolant level, or does the gauge show in the red.

If it just saying to check coolant level, maybe the level sensor is bad.

Yes the gauge goes up to the 235 degree mark and the fan kicks into high. I took the thermostat out yesterday and put in a pot of boiling water, and the spring opens the gasket like it should. So I put it back and filled the coolant level back, and it still goes up to 235 Degrees so I turned it off. I am afraid to drive it to the dealer for fear it may overheat to much. I am starting to believe it could be the water pump. Hard to believe it would go out so quickly. I don't even race the car or drive it hard.

You should get it checked out by the dealer. You could drive it with the heat on to help reduce the temperature.
