Default Unplugging mirror power plug!!

Any tips on how to unplug the power plug from behind the mirror on my 2007 C6? I have been pushing down on the release button on top of the plug and trying to pull it out with my fingernails. It won't come out. I did a forum search and couldn't find any help. Any ideas?

There is a locking clip on top and bottom. I used a small flat blade screwdriver to release the lower clip and my finger on the top clip and it just popped free, about a 30 second job after determining I needed to release locks on top and bottom.

Good Luck!

Just be careful not to press too hard so that you don't break the clips.

I tried the scredrive on the bottom but it didn't work. I cannot see back there very good, but I worked the screwdriver and my finger on the top release until I thought I would break something. It just won't come out. There appears to be a vertical opening at the bottom of the mirror housing near the center of the plug. I even tried the screwdriver in there, but to no avail. Getting frustrated.

To plug in an Invisicord for my radar detector. It hardwires the unit to the mirror for a clean installation. The detector mount bolts to my visor hinge on the driver side. It is all hidden by my tint eyebrow.

I may be stating the obvious but don't be afraid to move the mirror to where it is easier to get it out. I don't remember exactly where the clips are but push down the release(s) and just get a snug grab of the wiring with your hand and pull it out. It takes a little force...but be careful.

When I installed my invisichord I managed to twist the mirror to the point where it came off in my hand! Made it easier to unplug the cable but figuring out just where it had to be to remount it to the carrier was a bitch! Had horrible visions of driving back to the dealer with my mirror duct taped to the windshield frame.

I was afraid of pulling on the wires. Thought they might come loose from the connector. I'll give that a try. Thanks.
