I'm kicking around options for a near future mod. Thinking about Supercharging or a poked and stroked forged engine. It just came to me maybe a LS7 swap. I would convert to a wet sump I guess but wanted to know if anybody has done this swap into an auto. Any suggestions?

I'd talk to Katech and look at their "budget" 427 shortblock.

Here is a link to an LS7 install into a 07 Z51 Vert manual. The install was labor intensive, but it was essentially a bolt-in proposition with no fitment issues. An LS2 oil pan was used, dipstick hole drilled in the block, slam dunk wet sump. All the accessories from the LS2 were reused: a/c, p/s, alt, starter, etc. All the same LS2 Z51 oil lines were used, so it's very likely that your AT fluid lines will follow the same routing to your A6. The LS2 software tables were easily updated for the LS7. If someone can chime in, is the same torque tube used for both the manual and the A6?

I did the LS7 swap with the dry sump in my 2006 Z51 MN6. It was a very straight forward install. PM me if you want more info.

Dennis,

We have done many LS7 conversions on the C5 and C6’s as well as other vehicles, for example we are currently installing an LS7 in a 2007 Tahoe. The LS7 makes a great engine for many vehicles

If you have any questions about this type of project give us a call and we will be more than happy to answer any questions for you.
