Default Trying to install FAST!!! NEED HELP!!

Bought this from a forum vendor and stated it was for a C6. I am trying to install it and it does not look like the correct one. The stock gasket doesn't fit in the FAST, the TB bolts are almost too short, and some of the connections in the front don't look like the ones in Spinmonsters thread. I think I may have the wrong intake. Let me know if I am stupid or not. I will post up pics here in a bit. So compare those to Spins thread and pics.

The supplied bolts for the TB do not work, you need to buy them separately. Here is a few pics of the FAST to compare with:

Yea...to me it looks nothing like what I have...the black one there as a place for a hose on the right side of the TB...look at mine and it is not there...forum vendor told me i use same bolts and gaskets...if so i will be sending this back for a refund...didn't think it would go like this for me...

that little pipe to the left of the TB on the black one is there...on mine it is gone and looks like it is patched over and painted...

if i am wrong about this all and it is the correct intake, i apologize in advance.

You may have bought new gaskets(OP was not very specific). But I would not put the used gasket back on. Better safe then sorry!

Multiple posts over the last 3 years state the FAST manifold does NOT FIT the LS2 as it comes out of the box. It's designed for the LS1 and must be modified to use on an LS2.

No forum vendor should sell it as a mod for the LS2 unless explicitly stating that it requires modification.

if i buy a new smaller gasket for the fast then it will be too small for the TB

my other main concern is that nipple piece on the FAST to the right of where the TB hooks up. mine doesn't have it. it looks like it has been taken off and patched up. the black one in the pic has the nipple.

Hard to tell from your post but it sounds like you bought the LSX 92mm manifold. It REQUIRES the LSX 92mm throttle Body.

Don't know what the Vendor told you but the FAST site is misleading, it says the FAST LSX intake fits LS1, LS2!, and LS6. It fits the C6 LS2 ONLY with modifications to clear the firewall AND the bolts to the valley cover AND to the vacuum lines AND to the MAF.

The FAST LSX 92mm will require the same mods + the 92mm throttle body.

Hope you can return for a refund!

I'm running the FAST 92mm with my stock throttle body. My car is an 07 if that makes any difference.

I thought he was saying he purchased the manifold from someone who had already done the modification. I agree no Vendor should sell the manifold as a direct replacement for the C6!

*EDIT- You are also going to need fuel rail adaptors!

i was told it was a 90. can't be a 92 b/c my stock TB gasket is too small for the gasket holder on the FAST. i hope it is not the 78.

the FAST i bought came off a forum vendors C6 supposedly. it has the firewall mod done and ported.

my only questions are why are my stock TB gaskets to small for the FAST and the bolts holding the TB on the FAST don't work even though i was told the stock gaskets and bolts should work. and why does the black FAST have a nipple on the right side of the TB but mine has it cut off.

i am going to visit a local vette shop and see what they say. tell you my results when i return. cross my fingers and wish me luck.

thanks for everyones help,
andrew

ps i have the fuel rail adapters

dsp300c; Search will work to find the modifications needed. There are thousands of posts in the Archives about FAST installs. Check Spin Monsters posts, he always seems to have the best results and the best instructions.

Check as in measure the opening on the inlet. Is it 90, 78 or 92. Find this out for starters. You will have to do all the spinmonster mods.
1. Firewall
2. MAP sensor hole
3. Fuel rail mounting.

Many of us have done this w SPINMONSTER type mods and some variation. You need to accurately tell us what you have. We can help.

I contacted the vendor and I am returning it with a full refund.

I have already bought a brand new FAST 90mm and will be shipping it off to SPINMONSTER hopefully in the next week or so for all the modifications and port.

Start over fresh with a new unit instead of buying a used one which I should have done in the first place. I always buy new stuff. Never used. I thought I would give something used a try but it backfired.

Thanks for everyones help,
Andrew
