I have a set of Koni FSD shocks on my C6. I had posted on the forum about squeaking noise after the shocks were installed. Took the car to the dealer today and they found that the Koni FSD shocks were hitting the body of the car. There is a spot right above of all 4 shocks that the rubber bushing stopper on top the shock that seem to bottom up against the car.
Can someone tell me whether this is normal? Also is there any problem of the rubber stopper on top of the shock coming in contact with the car? Thanks

Did you reuse the original bushings and shields or the koni stuff ? When I installed the koni's on my 06 vert, I decided to reuse all of the original bushings and shields. The stock hardware looked heavier to me. 10,000 miles on them ,no noises or complaints about the shocks.

I did use the orginal bushing and shields. That was what most of the guys on the forum were doing.
Just wondering if the shock is suppose to travel up and bump against the car?
Sounds like you neglected to install the washer between the stepped shaft and the top bushing assembly. If that washer is not there as a stop, the shock body could rise n the assembly and make contact...

I believe the washer was installed. Just wondering if anything else can cause this problem. It is hitting on all 4 shocks.
You are right. Took it to a dealer and there is a gap between the shock and the body of the car. It seems that the white plastic piece that is between the shock and bushing fell into the shock.
Will go back to the installer tomorrow and have the shock taken off and re-installed.
Thanks guys, you were right that something is wrong here. Will find out tomorrow.
