Default Tune cost

Putting a intake on the Z06 and was wondering if a tune would be a good idea. I won't be breaking into the engine for a couple of years, but I want the most for what I have.
And what should I expect to pay, and gain HP wise.I hear some guys are getting 20 to 30 HP with just a tune. Could this be correct.
Thanks John

It's the new revamped K&N filter by the way.

You don't need a tune after putting a CAI on. But it never hurts!

Tunes in TX usually cost between $350-$500. Depending on the shop, specials, and who is doing it.

I would guess after the install of CAI and a tune....15-25HP.

From everything I have read, even a stock engine will benefit from a tune; a CAI would certainly benefit although I doubt you would see a 20 - 30 Hp gain. What you would gain would be better efficiency, throttle response, and maybe even a couple MPG.

John-

I notice that you are in the Chicago area, as am I. Who are you considering to do your tune? Thanks.

Even better than the few ponies added is the ability to tune out the torque management.

you dont need the tune but it helps. I added just a tune and it got 26 hp to the wheels. If your tuner is good you can get the added hp without opening your engine.

Another added benefit of the tune will be reducing torque management
