widest tire on stock c6 rims.
Since the 19 rear limit you tire choices, I was wondering if any body put 305/30/19 on the stock c6 19 x 10 wheels, it looks like tire rack post most 305/30/19 should be on 10.5-11.5, but 10 inches is a pretty wide wide wheel, I could see a 325,345, or even a 315. Are these guy too conserative, I want more rear tire and do not know it the 295/30/19 is the max on the stock rears.
Considering R888
Bridge re050a
Mich/Pilots
This is for road track/ hpde events. any feed back from someone who has run wider tires, the goodyears are ok but once you get some real seat time they are do not have the grip.

Search is your friend
The simple answer to your question is yes to 305. There are pages of discussion on this topic w/ great detail of pros & cons. Do a search you'll get all you need to know to make an informed decision. As always when you ask a question like this you get the best info by stating why your asking or what goals are.

I tried the search function but the result mostly pertained to 305s on z06 wheels, the info. I was lokking for was someone who has done the 305 on stock wheels and the results before committing to 800$ for the wrong tires.
Thanks for the replies, it guess it can be done but might not be 100% correct.

A 305/30-19 rear and 275/35-18 front will fit well on the stock wheels and will not interfere or rub. The stock wheels are 1/2" narrower than the factory recommended wheel width for these tires, but that breaks down to 1/4" per side and it works fine. The 305/30 is about .6" shorter than the stock rear tire and will make your speedometer read aprox 1mph fast, but this is easily corrected by a tuner or even with a handheld Predator. Also, you will not get any traction control issues with this setup.

Since I bought 325s (stock Z06) I am going to try them on the stock wheel 19x10.
See how it looks before I balence them If it doesnt work out They will be for sale, Sucks I wanted to widen the wheels but I hear the chrome has to be stripped first Too much work and money rechroming the stock wheels.
The other headache is the pilots dont last long at all and suck in the winter
any suggestions???

Braciole,
The chrome does not have to be stripped entirely, only within 1/2" of the weld area. Weldcraft has to grind that area clean to keep the weld pure. But even if you send in painted wheels, they have to strip the painted area right next to the weld anyway. Remember, this is on the inside of the wheel and you will never see it when installed.
I noticed Goodyears F1 runflat minimum rim recommendations are wider than most of the other tire manufacturers for the same size tire. Some of this is because the run flat side wall is so thick and does not conform well to different wheel widths. If you try a 325 tire on a 10" wheel, I would recommend you not use a runflat design.
If you do widen your wheels for a 325 tire, you might consider going to 11 1/2" by adding 1 1/2" to the inside. You will probably need to run a 3/16" spacer to keep the inner wheel from rubbing the a-arm when the suspension is unloaded.

I think the 325s on a 10" wheel is a bad idea.

John at CCW states a 325 will fit on one of his 19X11 Corsair wheels, so please don't think I use the above calculator as an end-all. I put more credence in John's opinion than anyone else's, period. He's forgotten more than others know.

That doesnt seem right???
even if I widen the wheel to 11 it says its still too small??
Thats not correct. I dont trust that it doesnt make sense.
It way off Tire Rack too.

I didn't say the calculator was perfect. It is just a tool.
I said I trust John's opinion more than anything else. 325s on a 10" wheel is probably a bad idea. Different tires are different widths, so it is best to look at the manufacturer's recommendations.
I doubt you'll find any manufacturer that suggests utilizing their 325 on a 10" wheel.

You can also look at these same tires mounted on widened wheels and decide for yourself.
