I'm ready to buy some LT headers for my 08 LS3 and just read a post about LTs possibly causing the hydraulic fluid for the clutch to boil. This is not what I really want to hear. Is this common, should I be concerned?

I installed long headers an didn't have a problem. Six months later i installed heads & cam and a spec 3clutch. After a aprox. 200 miles my clutch pedal started sagging, eventually the pedal stuck to the floor and the slave cylinder blow apart. I installed a new spec 3 clutch and the pedal has stuck to the floor twice while making a 1/4 mile pass. I'm not sure what the problem is, i suspect the fluid, and the slave cylinder are over heating. I'm waiting to get my headers back from Jet Hot.
This is a very interesting issue that many people have including myself. I did not have a problem until I added heads/cam combo for an extra 100 rwhp. Heat is a factor, but I do not think it is the only issue here.
My car does not run drastically hotter with the heads/cam, but it makes a boatload more power. It seems to be somewhat related to power being put through the clutch. I can do a run to the redline in 2nd with no issue. If I run through 3rd then it will stick, 3rd and 4th and it will always stay on the floor. If it is colder outside and the car is running strong, it sticks even more. I do not have an explanation why this happens, but can just tell you my experience.
Changing the clutch fluid often definitely helps and I change mine 1-4 times per month. I use the Ranger recommended Prestone Dot4 thats really cheap at WXX-Mart.
Seem to remember hearing about the rubber line contacting headers or stock exhaust & starting a fire. You could use aircraft fire sleeve, pretty good stuff.
Ive never really seen too much of a problem but you can put the line inside heat resistant sleeve. Pm me if you need any info on diff things. You arent too far from me so let me know if you need any help
