Sometimes i love drag racing. I went to Irwindale last night with the ls3 and got my first perfect light The guys at Irwindale gave me a free case of Lucas 5/30 full synthetic oil, a Lucas t-shirt, and some wax. I spend so much money racing that it's cool to get something in return
Our dragstrips in the Phoenix area used to have the .500 as a perfect light, but for the last few years they both went to .000 as a perfect light. I didn't think any strips used the .500 anymore.
EDIT: I was WRONG (again)!! We use the .000 here in Arizona, but Irwindale still uses the .500 as a perfect light. YOU ARE NOW MY NEW HERO!!!! GREAT LIGHTS! From the Irwindale website:
More About Reaction Times
Keep in mind that the tree counts down at .500 second (five tenths) intervals. The reaction time announced is the time that the vehicle took to move off of the starting line compared to when the last amber bulb lit up.
Example: A reaction time of .543 means the vehicle left the line exactly .043 seconds after the green came on (.500 after the last amber plus .043 = .543). And a reaction time of .410 means the vehicle left .080 seconds before the green bulb lit which activated the red light instead…a foul start. A perfect reaction time is .500 seconds. A reaction time over .6 seconds is considered marginal and over .7 is slow.
That is a great bracket racing package you put together there! I'm surprised you're not making money drag racing that car in the money series!
Thanks. I love my corvette. It's the most consistant and reliable car i've ever owned. I sometimes enter the summit bracket racing series and do pretty well.

Yea I don't want to jinx myself but I've got over 200 passes on my stock clutch in my daily driver too...they are great cars. Great mileage, plenty of room, and the can go from daily driver to road course or drag car with only a change of tires. Not many cars can claim that!

Thats the best feeling, and its even better when you come back around after a pass and there jaw is open in surprise at what you just ran.
Grats on the pefect light
