Headers Vs. 4:10 Gears???
1st gear: advantage A4 (3.73 x 3.06) vs (2.56 x 4.02)
2nd gear: basically a tie (3.73 x 1.60) vs (2.56 x 2.36)
3rd gear: advantage A6 (3.73 x 1.00) vs (2.56 x 1.53)
Now look at the time slip. He out 60's you, taking advantage of his first gear and higher stall. By the 1/8 you've caught up. In second gear, he has no gearing advantage and you have more power. At the 1/4, you have both the power and a gearing advantage. Its no wonder you beat him. You had more power and his gearing advantage was gone less than 2 seconds into the run.
note: I did the ratios from memory so they may not be exact and I don't know if his tires are the same diameter as yours. It should be close enough for discussion purposes.
When I looked at the time slips I also noticed the 60' times and then who was ahead at the 1/8 mile - that A6 sure is a nice improvement over the A4!
Tony, just think how your car would move with that 3200 stall and some better gears
With your cam and headers and that stall you'd be able to push into the 10's with better gears and traction.
