Default LS3 mods dyno numbers

Are there proven dyno numbers on basic LS3 mods?
Such as a listing of air intakes, catbacks, headers.

I am especially interested in an air intake but don't know much about the LS3 or if it even responds to an intake.

The car responds to very well to a Vararam intake (and some others). Headers definitely add power. Catbacks are 98% noise and 2% gains.

I haven't seen a list of dyno #s, but there are a lot of header/cai/160 stat/tune dynos on the forum. combined they are showing around 30 -40 HP gains and good track gains. Try a search in this forum "dyno" or "dyno results" in the thread title and you'll get some good results.

We did an all bolt-on LS3 that developed over 450 RWHP.

Parts:
VaraRam - 1 7/8 Dynatechs and 3" exhaust - Under Drive Pulley - Ported Intake and Throttle Body -QTP Cut-outs. Car ran 11.3's at 126 in a crummy 3000' DA.

We've done other intake/headers combo's and they respond well, also. Expect 425 -435 RWHP with the basic intake/headers/tuning mods.

The LS3 is a great paltform

I have a 08 LS3 with Vararam CAI, Kooks LT headers with off road X pipe and 160 Thermostat. The car made 433HP and 420TQ to the wheels and ran a 7.41 at 96.77MPH at the 1/8mile with the stock RFT.

There are lots of dyno sheets but it all depends on your definition of "proven".

I'd say the headers and intake mods are pretty well proven. with Kooks LTs , Vararam, and tstat i've been a 7.48@96.64 thats pretty consistant with the previous guy's post.

100%

There are different types of dynos, there are dyno variances between similar type dynos and there are even ways of tricking the dyno for advantageous results as well.
That's why many still prefer track numbers to GO ALONG WITH dyno claims so that one can be more assured that the dyno numbers are real, or at least inside the window of reality.

Compare your track numbers to your dyno numbers and then come to a conclusion....Don`t believe dyno hype.

Dyno #'s don't mean squat! You're LS3 car will respond great to the CAI, Long Tube Headers and a good STREET proper A/F ratio tune.

Yes, but the a/f went 11.4:1 FAT @4800 - 6500 rpms. It made 461/433 at the tire. I think if I had my laptop on the dyno, it would have made 12-15 more rwhp & a few more rwtq at least. I love this cam!!

I'm interested in this also. Specifically, what i'd gain from a tune and a cold air intake.

That's quick. Mine went 7.99 @ 90 up in Fontana but it was 103F and the DA was 4500ft.

Thanks for the info guys. I was just wondering how the stock air intake fared. How about Z06 air intakes?
I have very little knowledge of LS3 perf parts at this point.
Is the stock program too rich? Too retarted? I live in a warm climate so I want to avoid pinging.

My stock flash ran 10.4:1 a/f ratio in Atlanta, GA. VERY FAT! Shoot me your email address and I'll send you a High Octane timing table from HP Tuners from the stock tune.

The LS3 engines respond extremely well to bolt-ons. In 2200+ DA we had a clients car going 11.6 @121 on a set of stock run flats! Not bad for such crummy conditions with just bolt-ons and a tune. On a good tire and decent air... maybe 10's, definitely low 11s with little effort.

If you have any questions give us a ring, we'd be more than happy to figure out what's best for you.
