CAGS fuse???
Can anyone guess as to why it didn't disable the cags solenoid? Is there some other solenoid that might be wired wrong or computer error?
Oddly my wife has never had the thing stop her. Could I be driving it like an old lady?

The removal of the fuse will just toss a code and you'll get a SES light. Either have the CAGS removed by a tuner or plug in a CAGS eliminator. Pulling #10 is not the answer.

It works.......not an issue with the cost of the $20 wiring harness kit....just plain simpler to put in and take out.

Anyway, the biggest reason I wanted the defeat is for protection against anyone else that drives the car from "forcing the shifter" and possibly bending something... Ya, you can say no one else drive yours but in fact, you take it in for service (even an alignment) and you won't have a lot of control IF someone gets behind the wheel.
The next reason is on our 2005 it was easy to put the harness device on.......but with the Z06 the exhaust pipes were large enough and my hands so big that I just couldn't reach into the area to unplug the harness at the solenoid.
Bottom line.....doing the "fuse trick" is so easy to do with no need to lift the car. Why didn't one of the vendors do it first......who knows, I'd guess it is much easier for them to buy components and assemble. If they were to do the "fuse trick", they would likely have to invest in some level of tooling $
I was sure I looked at that fuse box cover 10 times. How many #10's are there?
Now I don't know if it is a myth or not.
It wouldn't be so bad but it always catches the shifter and I can't move it at all until I drop below 15mph. I can't imagine anything I have ever seen in my life so stupid as that. I hate that #$%$^ thing.
Hence you change the fuse out to a resistor fuse, so the computer can still see the Cags solenoid when it checks the resistance on the loop, but will not let enough amperage through the resistor fuse to activate the CAGS.

As for which fuse you need to change out with a 2.2K resistor fuse,

Lastly, the resistor fuse at the fuse box only works the the C6, since the Cags is the only thing drawing power through that fuse. On the C5, there where other system on the the fuse, so you have to install the resistor down line at the trans Cags solenoid instead (had to get under the car to install the resistor on the C6).
To add, with the resistor fuse, it will prevent the block out, but you will still get the 1-4 dash light. So if the car is tuned, or you are planning on tuning the car, it easy to just go into the Cags settings to change the throttle percentage to turn the cags system off instead (you get no dash 1-4 dash light coming on this way, since the system is never triggered).

I just installed M2W for the NPP and the #10 fuse is the one you remove.
