I had to opportunity to run at 85-100 mph steady, and got steering wheel vibration near 90 mph. It's fine below that speed. Sound like front wheel balancing or alignment?
Haven't had the tires balanced or aligned since I got it a year ago. And the tires are at 4/32nd. I probably need all 3 done. It just never showed until the recent high speed. Thanks.
Dennis,
The only local tire place I've used is Medford Goodyear on Rt. 70, back when I had the original tires taken off my 78 pace car. Do you know a local place? I've had bad balances most of the time anywhere I've gone for my regular dd car.
And I know I won't know if it's okay until I take it to Atco for it's first run. I went 2 tuesdays ago to see my cousin run (he goes every week with his Plymouth Duster). I would have run then, after the Gamblers were done. But then I remembered the damn vibration I got while I was on that run down the AC Expwy and GS Pkwy the previous week. By the way, you would have LOVED it. The Trooper car did 110 mph by the time we hit the GS Pkwy, so those of us in the first 7 or 8 cars behind him got to crank it up to 85 to 100 mph NON STOP all the way to the Rt. 9 exit! What a rush. They'll have that show at Viking Yacht every year now, especially since it benefits the Make a Wish foundation. I'll probably go to Kerbecks Toys for Tots run in October since they might let em run like that down the AC Expwy. I went 2 years ago and it was too congested to get over the speed limit.
I'm also interested in buying the new Michelen PS zero pressure tires, since my tread seems low. I hear they're rated way over the stock Goodyear run flats. Do you know who deals in them locally?
