I have a set of warped 1 7/8" Kooks on a big cam and heads setup that I'm having problems keeping sealed. The reason for them being warped is not Kook's fault but my own, I had a problem with my car pulling negative 8-10 degrees timing at idle after putting in my cam and it was causing the headers to glow red hot. Problem is fixed now but even after hand grinding to replane the header surface I still have some warpage and need to take up the diffeence with some good Header gaskets. My thought was to go with Cometic, any thoughts or suggestions?
what is going to happen is while trying to get it even you are gonna pull the threads out of the head
I think you would be right at .08" warpage but I mis-typed, it should of been .008"... I'd be willing to bet that a crush type gasket will easily take up the diffewrenc without needing to be over torqued to the point of pulling the threads.
So, back to my question is Cometic the best gasket to do the job?
