Just installed a Z06 exhaust on my car and I'm wondering where the factory normally taps the vacuum from on the NPP option. I can certainly pull it from the power brakes, but just want to know how it's done from GM.
GM taps the rear of the manifold, on the rear of my '05 stock intake there is an untapped vac fitting right next to the brake booster fitting. I can only assume later years have the same fitting, although the LS3 intake is a different part #, but thats when the NPPs came out so the fitting is probably the same. Given its placement, its going to tough maybe impossible to get to (w/o removing the manifold), but its there. I have a FAST & there's a short vac line up front from the top of the motor to just behind the throttle body where I tapped in. I have heard people warn against going into the brake line to avoid loosing power brake assist w/ a leak creating a safety issue. However unlikely, I avoided the brake vac line, & I went up front.
Back of a stock intake manifold from my '05. The large right angle port is the brake booster, the smaller straight fitting with the "T" shaped cap is the vacuum source.

Correct, this is where the B&B kit gets it
