I have A6 with Corsa sport exaust with the standard Corsa H pipes. If I install Kooks 1 7/8 headers with high flow Cats will I still be able to pass DEQ. I live in oregon and if any Engine lights come on it will not pass. I read some where that if you install headers a check engine light will come on. Is this true.

most likely. Just get a tune, and no more light

We have installed several header and exhaust packages on C6s with no problems and no check engine light. As Jimmy advised, a good tune should remedy the problem if you do get the light.

Get the Kooks 1 3/4 headers the 1 7/8 are for bigger cubic inches.

just got kooks headers install at Tony's Corvette Shop and tony tells me, you need to have ALL the 02 sensors front ones and the rear ones and get tune.

A temporary fix is to use a code reader and reset the codes. This will give you about 50 miles before the O2 codes come back on.

A tuner can disable the O2 codes permanently.

Could you be a bit more specific here. Is Tony saying you need all the sensors to pass an Oregon emissions test or you need the rear O2 sensors to get the tune to work?

Since you didn't fill in your profile, I dont know if you live in Oregon and the above advice has to do with the Oregon emissions test.

I installed my Kooks 1 3/4, got the CEL the next day. The rear O2 sensors were installed and wired in. The first thing my tuner did was turn the rear O2 sensors OFF and then tuned the car. I have not gotten a CEL or code from the headers since. Many of us with headers have done this procedure. Either way, you will most likely get a CEL light due to the rear sensors. Your tuner will have to make adjustments to keep the rear O2 sensors from throwing a code and light.

I think you will find that you will install the rear O2 sensors to fill the holes, but your tuner will disable them during the tune. Problem solved.

Where I live, there are no emissions tests. I have plugs in where my rear 02's would normally go.

Tuner will likely program out the rear 02's, and turn off CEL light.

My understanding (and please correct me if I'm wrong) is that the rear 02s primarily function only as a check to make sure your cats are not overheating.
