Default Bottom line LS3 modifications, intake/tune/stat...

did you do it? was it REALLY a world of difference? would you do it again?

just had to ask, i can't see a vararam/tune/stat making a big difference but i'd like to hear from people that did it

Well it does. It's not so much a 'seat of the pants' feel when just driving around on the street (though you will feel it) but more so at the track where this set up can really shine (providing that your tuning is good).
I don't have an LS3 but I have done those exact mods on my LS2 and it really does wake the car up.

I ran a 12.4 at 116 stock A6/Z51
With the tuning and Vararam I ran 11.7 at 121...

I've since added a T-Stat, Vig3200, and AR longtubes... The car is a beast.. From a stop it would toast my 05 H/C C6 MN6.. It wouldn't hang from a roll, but it's quite strong....

Wow, 11.7 is outstanding with just a Vararam and tune! That is the identical setup that I am currently running on my 08 MN6. There is a very noticeable increase in snap and pull with those 2 upgrades.

ARHs are going to be my next move. Was there a SOTP bump when you added the headers? I assume that you modified the tune along with the headers.

I definately can feel a difference with the headers, but the heat here in Tx drains alot of the power.. - It has been 95-96 degrees every day, Once it gets cooler, I'll take it back to the track and see what it will do.. By the SOTP, I'm guessing the headers added 3mphish in the 1/4

I've been dialing my car in about a week now since the headers and it seems to be getting stronger every day. The tune is a huge deal with headers...

Vararam was the best performance part I bought for my '07, which is why I also bought it for my '08.
