Default window tinting and Nav and dot matrix

I am one confused puppy. I am going to tint my C6 coupe. Somewhere I read on the forum and of course can't find it I saw something about knowing whether the tinter knows about navigation and dot matrix. I have talked to a couple of tinters who are clueless.

What do I need to know? I have contacted Audio Sensations who mentioned nav but only for ease of directions. Didn't know about dot matrix.

Waiting to hear from Spade. ProTouch in Northern Kentucky the same.

I am in Cincinnati. Of course like all of us on the web, I want it done perfectly.

Thanks.

Jim

Makes no difference if you have Nav for window tint. However, When it comes to doing the back window there are a few schools of thought. The way my tinter, who has done many C6 Vetts here in Fort Worth, TX did it was to place a piece of black vinyl in the area from the top rear defogger element up..looks great and you cannot see that area thru the mirror from the drivers seat so it does not effect the rear vision at all. Here are a couple of photos showing how he did it.

I had mine done the same way (with the black vinyl) using the same tinter here in FW also. But I have also seen some that don't have the vinyl and thought the dot matrix portion didn't look bad at all. You just have to come back about 2-3 days later and press the tint against the matrix and it will stick and look very acceptable.

The guy's name is Lynn Christian 817-629-9569. He will come out to your house if you are close to FW and do it there if you have a garage.
