Default When To Change Diff. Fluid

My Clutch Pack was replaced aurond 5200 miles ago and I have no issues as of yet (Knocking on Wood and Crossing Fingers) with the Diff. Rattling and Clunking. I want to know when and if should the fluid be changed and is it like doin an oil change after so many miles.

Thanks

I am in the process of changing both my tranny and rear end fluids with only 1,300 miles on the car. I will be going with RP Synchromax in the tranny and RP Max Gear 75w90 in the rear. I just wanted to get the factory "breakin" fluid out. I would say do whatever you think and makes you feel better. I seriously doubt you will hurt anything leaving it in, however, you won't hurt anything by changing it either

I changed mine at 10k with Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90 and 1 bottle GM Posi-Lube and all is quiet.

There is an updated TSB on this condition that utilizes the new DEXRON® LS gear oil, P/N 88862624.
